Melbourne accommodation??
September 20, 2008 - I'm looking for a really good, inexpensive hotel in Melbourne city, Australia for a weekend getaway for two. Any ideas on where to start looking, or any hotel recommendations? Very much appreciated...
- I live in Melbourne. You could simply look in the Yellow Pages or www.yellowpages.com.au. There are some really beautiful motels/hotels out there!
http://www.budgetstay.com.au/ http://www.hotel.com.au/Melbourne/cheap-Melbourne-hotels.asp Here are a couple of sites offering cheap accomodation - Melbourne is pretty small and easy to get around on foot or by tram, so choose a hotel in Melbourne, not Carlton or South Yarra etc. We have had a number of work conferences at the Jasper Hotel in Elizabeth St, which is right next to the Victoria Market, and its very nice inside, just undergone a referbishment. Not the prettiest part of Melbourne though. The Novotel on Collins is lovely, situated right in the middle of the best Melbourne shopping, a couple of blocks from Southbank (river walk, casino, restaurants). A bit more up-market is the Docklands Apartments Grand Mercure, which is a gorgeous new area, a 10 minute tram trip from the centre of Melbourne or the river. http://www.newquay.com.au/ I hope this helps.
Hi, There are plenty of accommodation to choose from in Melbourne. It depends on where in Melbourne you want to stay and how much you want to spend per night on accommodation. If your interested in budget accommodation like backpackers etc.. You could try the YHA (Youth Hostels of Australia) and search for Melbourne and there's two YHA's in Melbourne and they are both really great as I've stayed at both of them. They are both walking distance into the city and also a 5 minute walk to Queen Victoria Markets (Vic Markets) and there is a supermarket about 500m down the road and there's also a tram stop and also a bus stop just up the road as well. YHA: http://www.yha.org.au For general information on Melbourne attractions, accommodation etc.. Three best websites to visit are That's Melbourne, Tourism Melbourne and Tourism Victoria. That's Melbourne: http://www.thatsmelbourne.com.au Visit Melbourne: http://www.visitmelbourne.com.au Tourism Victoria: http://www.visitvictoria.com.au You can also search and book accommodation online on each of those websites I have listed above including on the YHA website. I hope this helps you with your question. Thank you From Clint Discover Australia: http://www.youtube.com/discoveraustralia
