Are there any hotels in the Melbourne CBD that allow you to check in before 12 in the afternoon?
- Stay at the Hyatt
I mostly check in before 12 noon and never really had any problems. In case your room isn't ready just ask to lock your luggage and you might get a drink or coffee on the hotel's expense. This happens to me most of the time. I always had been to the Ibis hotel on Therry st.
Most hotels set check-in at 2pm you can however on most booking forms request a check in at 11.30am or 12.00noon if required. I wouldnt be requesting earlier then 11am as if the previous occupants checked out at 10am they need time for room cleans and linen changeovers. If you get there and the room is not ready all hotels will let you leave your luggage there and check -in later. If you have a hotel in mind contact them directly, unless the hotel is booked out then it should be possible. I recommend Quest on Burke for some beautiful apartments right in the CBD.
- check rydges hotel chain. You can become a vip for free and it gives you late check-out and sometimes early check in depending on room availability.
- hmmm none that I know of - you might have to pay an early check in fee or even pay for an extra night (the night before)
- Most hotels check in time is 2 pm however if your room has been cleaned they will allow you to check in earlier. which is often the case. So if you arrive early just hope for the best. Good luck
Australian hotels generally have a check-in time of 2pm. If you arrive earlier than this you might be allowed into the room if it's been cleaned. If the room is not available, just ask Reception if you can check-in and leave your baggage, and come back later. Most hotels will let you do this. Then you can go off and enjoy lunch without worrying about bags.
- You could try the Mantra at 31 City Rd Southbank (used to be Pacific International), or Punt Hill Apartments in Flinders Lane.
Most motels will store your luggage in a secure room in their lobby until 2pm check in, or whenever you tell them you'll be back. I've never been charged for this. If you need to get into the room to shower or rest before 2pm then you'd have to organise this when you make the booking. As others have noted, you'll probably incur a fee.
- Ask when you book. Unless its a peak time many will allow early check-in for nothing. Don't push the friendship by expecting a 5 am check-in though!
